  1. Only worked for a couple days. Wouldn’t spend my money on it again!

  2. Our dog had the problem of barking (loudly and for a very long time) at any new person who came to our house. It got to the point where we didn’t want to have people over anymore. Having this collar has helped so much! Just the beep level alone has been enough to get him to stop barking most of the time. We’ve only had to use the spray level a few times, and it’s just enough to interrupt his barking and get him to calm down. He’s very scared of new people as well, and stopping the barking has actually helped him to warm up to new people faster also. He would also sometimes run after people or cats outside our house and having the remote has been really handy to have to get him to stop that as well. He used to bolt out of the house barking, but now just putting the collar on has stopped that behavior. Our dog is small (about 20 pounds) and the collar is a little big, but not too bad. He can still run and play fetch with it on. He’s an extremely sensitive little rescue dog, so I was hesitant to use any type of correction like this, but it has worked wonders on him.

  3. [...]

We adopted a kitten and a puppy which originally was supposed to be a good idea. It didn’t really work out this way. Heidi always chases Kitty because she likes to play a lot and she is generally obsessed with the cat. Kitty, as expected, doesn’t like this kind of affection and prefers to be left alone once in a while.

Another problem we have with the dog is that she barks at everything starting from wind and finishing with a neighbor’s kid. That’s why we needed something to prevent her from doing her chasing and barking all together.

We did some research on the internet and found two types of spray collars:

    1) those that spray automatically when the dog barks

    2) those that have a remote control

Because of the fact that we needed to resolve both chasing and barking we chose the second one.

Since the day it arrived our life became heaven! Not only the dog doesn’t chase the cat when she has the collar on, she doesn’t bark as well. The collar doesn’t spray with water so the dog is never wet, it sprays with air. It has 3 options on the remote control: beep, small spray, large spray. We have been using it for 3 days now (beeping and small spraying) and never had a problem.

  4. the spray commander has three buttons. 1st is a beep, 2nd short spray and 3rd a long spray. they say you can beep to reward your dog for doing something good but i find it better to warn them away from something bad. i have a dachshund that barked and howled whenever he could be next to me. so i put him in his play pen and went into the other room where i could see him.

i waited for his him to bark and then howl. i beeped him. it startled him mid bark. he waited a few more seconds and started barking again. second time was a short spray. he waited long this time but barked again. the third time he barked i gave him the long spray. right after he went to sleep and i got to do housework without tripping over him.

i practiced every day either putting him in a different room or pretending to leave. it was only about two days where i didn’t need to go past the beep. now if i just put the collar on him he knows to settle down.

i also taught him the boundaries of the yard with it so that i can let him go off leash outside. he never steps onto the sidewalk or into the neighbor’s driveway. he loves chasing and barking at cats but completely ignores them with the collar on

    pros

    very easy to work

    quick response time

    doesn’t hurt the dog

you can use your own choice collar with it if it’s sturdy enough

    cons

He does understand that he can’t bark when the collar is on and that if the collar isn’t on he can do as he pleases. it’s not a good idea to have them wear the collar more than a couple of hours.

it’s splash proof but not waterproof.

it’s very big on a small sized dog. it takes a great deal of adjusting to get to to fit well if you use the included collar. it’s not recommended for dogs under 6 pounds because the device is somewhat heavy and most toy dogs won’t be able to wear it. (chihuahuas and yorkies especially though they seem to need it)

(from looking on their website you can’t buy additional remotes if you lose it. though i have seen remotes for sale it may not work with yours because some are set to different frequencies)

  5. We rescued a 15 month old, 90 pound Alaskan Malamute. A really nice dog but so poorly trained and behaved. Our 3 year old granddaughter lives with us which just added to the problem. We hired a personal trainer and although she was very knowledgeable, the training sessions were stressful for us and we found it difficult to follow her training advice. However, she did sell us the No Bark Collar which was great. After one week with the No Bark Collar our dog would stay outside in the kennel or on the deck without barking and howling. So a few weeks ago we decided to order the Spray Commander by the same company.

All I can say is “Thank you Spray Commander!” We were actually considering giving the dog to the Alaskan Malamute Rescue (although we did not really want to do this) because the dog was making our house too stressful. He was stealing everything in site. Anything he saw he took. And he was jumping on people and the last thing you want is your 90 pound dog jumping on guests. However, the worst thing was that he was playfully aggressive with our granddaughter. Not actually meaning to hurt her but playing rough. He would knock her to the ground and drag her by her clothes. However, the dog doesn’t seem to have a mean disposition….no growling ever. He was raised with another dog and we think this was how he played.

Then we got the Spray Commander. Within two weeks this is not the same dog. He respects the word “no.” He actually listens to us. We rarely push the spray button any longer. We just look at him, sometimes put our hand on the remote (which we wear on a lanyard around our neck) and he stops and either sits or lays down. Amazing. He rarely takes things now even when we are not in the room. We are going to try the training they recommend on the training dvd where you hide and tempt your dog with something on a counter and then without saying a word spray him when he goes to grab it. The dog will have no idea who did that or how it happened but knows that when he does what he just did, he will get sprayed.

We are still working on training him with our granddaughter and are being very cautious. However, instead of knocking her to the ground, he now lays next to her playyard and just watches her. We are careful to stay very close when they are together out there. Inside the house does not seem to be a problem. Inside he is very calm and gentle with her. It is only outside that seems to be a problem.

We have had no problem with this product. It is important to turn it off when not in use as the batteries wear out fast. I have already recommended this product to friends. It is very humane and helped to turn my very unruly dog into a loving companion!
